How the rank is built: - **Trait scarcity.** Lions have nine trait categories: Background, Body, Eyes, Mane, Mouth, Bodygear, Earring, Headgear, and Signature Series. Rarer trait values contribute more. - **Trait count.** The number of traits a Lion carries is itself treated as a trait, so the absence of traits counts. Three slots (Bodygear, Earring, Headgear) can be empty, recorded as "Nothing". The relationship is U-shaped: both few and many traits are rare, while the six-and-seven-trait middle is roughly 85% of the collection. - 1 trait: 9 Lions (the Signature Series one-of-ones) - 5 traits: 126 Lions - 6 traits: 3,309 Lions - 7 traits: 5,209 Lions - 8 traits: 1,347 Lions - **Market premium, measured per trait.** Sale prices are aggregated per trait rather than per token, normalised against the monthly median so the figure reflects trait demand rather than market cycles, then damped by sample size. When the community consistently pays more for a trait, that trait becomes rarer in the score. Headgear "Crown" and Headgear "LAZY Hat" both carry a substantial premium, and the market independently pays a premium for five-trait Lions, confirming the trait-count effect from a second direction.
